In 2018, I was invited by the Vice President of Administrative Services to serve as Chair of the Lewis-Clark State College Arboretum Committee. Since then, I have worked with a dedicated team of faculty, staff, students, and community members to expand the campus arboretum program. During my tenure, the campus earned recognition as a Tree Campus Higher Education by the Arbor Day Foundation and achieved Level I Arboretum Accreditation through ArbNet's Morton Register of Arboreta.

As committee chair, I coordinate projects, facilitate meetings, and work collaboratively with campus and community partners. I also developed the arboretum logo, designed the campus tree tour brochure, launched the committee's Facebook page, and create promotional materials that support the committee's outreach and educational efforts.

Maintaining Tree Campus Higher Education recognition requires submitting an annual application documenting how the college meets the program's five standards. I prepare the application each year, working collaboratively with committee members to review and refine the submission before it is sent to the Arbor Day Foundation.
